The changping expressway from Siping city to Changchun city, Jilin province, will be completed and open to traffic in October 2015.

"From May to October, half of the changping expressway from Siping to Changchun will be closed," said Xie Shanke, project manager of the China Railway No.5 Engineering Bureau. "The construction channel between the left and right sections of the expressway has already been opened so that the construction will not affect the opening of a single section."

It is understood that the changping expressway reconstruction and expansion project starts from Wulipo (jiliao Province boundary) on the south side of Siping City, passes Guo Jiadian town, Gongzhuling City, Taojiatun Town, Fanjiatun Town, stops at Changchun Banjiegou interchange, and connects with Changchun Ring highway, with a total length of 98.101 km. The project will be based on the original 4 lane to widen the roadbed width of 42 meters of 8 lane highway. The design speed is 120 km/h.

Han Zengyi, director of the Changping expressway reconstruction and expansion project and chairman of Jilin Expressway Co LTD, said that after the reconstruction and expansion project is completed and opened to traffic, the traffic capacity of this section of highway will increase from 25,000 to 40,000 vehicles per day to 100,000 vehicles per day.

It is reported that the project will be completed this year in the direction of siping to Changchun one, the right section is scheduled to open to traffic in October. The entire project will be open to traffic by the end of October 2015.
